My mutual lesson on Temple Marriage

I thought you might get a hoot out of this. Your Grandpa and I were divorced at the time. We had planned for a lesson on Temple Marriage three times and the ladies had cancled out each time. The president and 2nd counsoler would not give it the President had been married in the Temple would not give it so I said I would do it. They were both rather amazed to say the least.

I told them that my husband was not a member of the church. My Father gave him a Book of Mormon and he was interested in getting married the the Temple when he got out of the service. Shortly after we were married he went over to England.

When he came home he was not interested in even joining the church.. The two times he agreed to have the missionaries come he would promise to be there after work but eventually he would not keep that promise.

I also had two stories from the Era that told of other womens experiences and how much better their marriages were when they were finally sealed in the temple.

We had a discussion period. The other two leaders were surprised when they were told by some it gave them a lot to think about.

One of the girls told her Mother that she bet all of my children would be married in the Temple. She was right but not by my doing. It was a lot of years later when single women could get their endowments unless they were going on a mission. I am really proud that most of my Grand Children have been married in the Temple. Love to All Grandma R
